As I sit here eating my Black Bean Soup I’m thinking about how to start this post….. “NO CUSSIN’ ALLOWED!”… For the past week I’ve been in Gainesville, Virginia with my Aunt Sandi, Uncle Gary and my two cousins Lyndsay (16) & Katie (15) the most tivo/boston red sox/bolognese/lucky charms/country music/pickle bob’s I’ve ever experienced in my whole life….. it was quite the week. I took the train from New Haven to DC.. First off Virginia is soo totally different then Connecticut. Way different. To the point where I was like hmm… this is seriously odd. The houses are just clumps of cookie cutter houses plopped in the middle of a field ( You can’t change the color of your house so says my cousin Shocking just shocking to much tan for me!). And they go by county vs. town like they have here. I noticed people in VA love God. Really love him. I felt like i missed out on the god thing as a child. The one thing that made me sick was seeing a McCain/ Palin sticker on every other car in the town/county what ever. Still I was a little shocked seeing how close they live to DC and my dear friend President Obama. I love my aunt and uncle very much but to see how over protective they were of their children slightly shocked me. I’ve always been a bit more ‘seasoned’ then my cousins but I was honestly surprised. I hope that by letting them do next to nothing doesn’t hurt them in their future partying. (I can see them being very very drunk at a college party cursing her parents up and down) well at least Lynz. They also listen to a mass amount of country music in their house. Jesse would gouge his eyes out most likely by the 2nd day. Personally I don’t mind country.. very much. But at some point I need some Lil Wayne or some Beyonce to bring me back and allow me to shake it a bit. I have a new found love for fondue restaurants/ fondue in general. At the restaurant we went to, The Melting Pot http://www.meltingpot.com/ .. we had basically all of my favorite foods… Cheese, Bread, Broccoli, Chocolate, Strawberries anda cute waiter! but he wasn’t food just a little eye candy. Eeek I hope Jesse doesn’t read this haha. Well this trip made me realize how much I want a real camera.. like a Nikon or something. So many great photo opps. missed by my lack of camera. Luckily my aunt loves to take pictures so she made us do a little photo shoot in the back yard on my last day there. Coming home I was dying.. DYING to see my boyfriend. I’m not sure why, we’ve gone a week without seeing each other before but something inside just made me miss him alot. And seeing my mother run up the platform to race to me and give me a huge hug kinda made me superduper happy and seeing my brother on the other side across the tracks buying m&m’s from a vending machine and waving to me. Things don’t change around here. It’s good to be home =)
